Google Chrome must be installed to use PDO. PDO assumes Chrome is in the standard installation path (e.g. C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe).
If Chrome is installed in a non-standard location, specify the chrome.exe file path in PDO Settings (Main Menu).
2. Profile
The Chrome controlled by PDO uses a dedicated "PDO user profile" separate from your normal Chrome. You can use PDO independently without affecting your usual browsing history and cookies.
PDO Chrome profiles are automatically created in "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\PatDocOrganizer\Profiles" as AutoBot and SubBot for main and auxiliary control respectively.
3. Chrome Driver
PDO automatically downloads the Chrome Driver matching your installed Chrome version.
The downloaded driver is stored in the "driver" folder in the PDO installation directory, or in "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\PatDocOrganizer".
4. Chrome Account
On first launch, PDO's Chrome starts without a Google account. Logging in with your account enables sync of bookmarks and extensions.
PDO's Chrome profile is saved, so once you log in to a site (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini), you remain logged in on subsequent launches.
5. Supported File Formats
Files natively supported by Chrome (PDF, etc.) can be displayed directly.
To display Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), install the "Edit Office files in Docs, Sheets & Slides" extension from the Chrome Web Store. Note: this extension shows files in view-only mode and does not support editing.
