Launching Chrome and Display

1. Launching Chrome

  • Chrome is launched automatically when display is required — e.g. after preparation processing following "Execute" in the document list window, or after selecting a history entry in the restore window.
  • When Chrome itself is updated, PDO may automatically update the Chrome Driver. This can take around 10 seconds, so please wait until it finishes.

2. Patent Documents

  • The corresponding Google Patents page is displayed for each publication number.
  • Optionally, the JPO API can be used to display J-PlatPat pages, enabling automatic display even for Japanese publications not in Google Patents or lacking a PDF. Note: users must apply to the JPO for an API access key and configure it in PDO.

3. Displaying PDF / Word Files

  • For locally saved PDF or Word files, PDO automatically converts the path to file:/// URI format for display.

4. Display Delays or Problems

  • Delays may occur due to internet connection speed, server load, or security checks on the destination site. If a page or file takes more than 10 seconds to load, PDO skips to the next one.
  • If a page fails to display, press F5 to reload.
