Official Communication Analysis

Selecting "Official Communication Analysis" from the Main Menu analyses the official communication PDF and extracts citation reference information.

1. Basic Operation

Select the target jurisdiction (communication type) on the analysis screen, then drag and drop the official communcation PDF to start analysis. You can choose from EP, US, JP, and CN (EP also covers WO-ISA).

If multiple PDFs are dropped, they are automatically merged into one PDF before analysis.

2. Extracted Information

PDO analyses the official communication and extracts mainly the following:

• Citation labels (e.g. D1, D2, Ref. 1, Ref. 2, etc.)
• Publication numbers (e.g. JP…, EP…, US…, WO…, etc.)
• Reference number (if stated in the official communication)
• Application number (if stated in the official communication)

3. Notes

• OCR results may contain recognition errors depending on the image quality and layout of the official communication.
• Check the document list window displayed after analysis for any errors in document labels or publication numbers.
• Some items may not be extractable depending on the format of the official communication; correct them manually in the document list window.
