PDF Editing App (Merge, Delete, Bookmark Editing)

The PDF Editing App accepts multiple PDFs, analyses their bookmarks to auto-generate "blocks", and lets you reorder or delete blocks (level-1 bookmark groups) before outputting a single merged PDF. Bookmarks are maintained throughout the merge, delete, and block-reorder operations.

1. Screen Layout

  • Drag-and-drop area
Drop PDFs here. Non-PDF files are not accepted.
  • Left: Block order editing (tree view)
Shows file, block title, and page range. Move up/down/delete by block (multi-select supported).
  • Right: Bookmark mode (per file)
    1. Existing bookmarks — split at level-1 bookmarks; 2. Filename — treat entire PDF as one block.
  • Output folder
Defaults to the folder of the first PDF added.
  • Action buttons
"Edit and Save", "Clear All", "Reset BMK Edits", etc.

2. How to Launch

  • From the Main Menu
Open the PDF Editing App and drop PDFs.
  • From PDO Explorer
Right-click a PDF and select "Send to PDF Editing App".

3. Bookmark Modes

Existing bookmarks

Extracts level-1 bookmarks from the source PDF and creates multiple blocks. After merging, level-1 bookmarks are preserved and lower-level bookmarks are offset-corrected to follow actual page positions.

Filename (whole PDF as one block)

Treats the entire PDF as one block. Optionally add page-level sub-bookmarks ("Page BMK").

4. Block Editing

  • "Up" / "Down": reorder blocks
  • "Delete": exclude block from merge
  • Right-click → "Rename bookmark": edit the block title
  • Delete key: delete selected blocks; Ctrl+Z: undo last delete once

5. Edit and Save

Clicking "Edit and Save" inserts pages in block order into a new PDF and builds the bookmark outline. Output filename defaults to merged.pdf; duplicates are renamed merged(1).pdf, etc.
