Word-to-PDF Conversion / Bookmark App

Creates a PDF from a Word (.doc / .docx) file with bookmarks (outline) attached based on heading structure or specified rules. Can also add/reshape bookmarks to an existing PDF.

1. Screen Layout

• Drag-and-drop area
  Drop a Word (.doc / .docx) or PDF file.
• Close button (when shown as popup)
  Closes the window after processing (Esc also works).

2. Procedure

2-1. Word file (.doc / .docx)

1. Drag and drop the Word file.
2. Word → PDF conversion is executed.
3. Bookmarks (outline) are attached to the generated PDF and saved.

Bookmarks are created from Word headings. Additional page-level bookmarks are applied via post-processing. .doc files are internally converted to .docx first.

2-2. PDF file

Applies bookmark addition/reshaping rules to an existing PDF.

• Output is saved in the same folder as the input file with the same filename as PDF.

3. Notes

• Word → PDF conversion requires Microsoft Word (via COM).
• If bookmarks are not as expected, check that Word Heading styles are correctly applied.
• PDO Explorer's "Convert to PDF" right-click option performs a simple conversion (no headers or bookmarks). Use this app when you need bookmarks.
